July : Truffaut on screen
In July Alliance Française du Bengale has decided to show
you a different side of the world under the eye of François
Truffaut. François Truffaut is a well know French film
director and he was one of the founders of the French New Wave
in filmmaking that “cleansed” French cinema in 1960s.
From 1955 to 1983 François Truffaut directed 25 movies
and some were inspired from his life or from his personal obsessions.
Truffaut remains the most popular and successful French film director
ever. His main themes were passion, women, childhood and faithfulness.
This months the ciné-club will present you five movies
with a common theme, love and woman – how it begins, how
it works, how it fails.
