Becoming an 'Ami' of the Alliance Française
of Hyderabad
About Alliance Française
The Alliance Française of Hyderabad (AFH) is an organization with
a non profit educational and cultural goal. For the last 23 years, the
AFH has offered opportunities to the inhabitants of Hyderabad and Secunderabad
to discover contemporary French culture and Indo-French artistic co-creations
along with French scientific know-how.
In a year, the AFH organizes about sixty events.
In India, there are 15 Alliance Française located in all the important
cities.
Services offered to the Ami
The AFH offers the following services :
- receive Jumelles (program published by the AFH every two months)
presenting all the cultural, scientific and educational activities organized
by the AFH;
- receive a personal invitation for the stage art programs which are
'by invitation only' and for the exhibitions whose venue or date is
not confirmed in Jumelles ;
- avail our Resource Centre facilities: all amis can borrow books,
cassettes … from the library on payment of a refundable deposit of Rs
500/-
- avail facilities of the Virtual library which gives access to 32,000
books, 2,200 audio-visual documents, 400 CD ROMs, 600 FLE (French as
a Foreign Language) audio documents. The staff of the AFH can get any
of these titles for you on payment of actual postal charges.
Procedure
- Fill up the Ami application form, which is available at the
Reception.
- Make the requisite payment to the accountant, who will issue a receipt.
- Submit the form, receipt and two photographs to the receptionist,
who will issue an 'ami' card.
Validity
The ami card will be valid till the 31st of December of the particular
year when it is issued. In case of shifting of residence, the ami
is requested to inform the AFH of his/her new address.
Fee Structure for the year 2008
- Rs 300/- if taken for the whole year
- Rs 200/- if paid after 1st July.
